Freshly Painted Ceramic Art Pottery Vase by Michael W. Moses

This is an image of a piece of hand modeled ceramic art pottery that I finished painting today.  It was all painted and ready to be glazed.when this image was taken. I glazed it this afternoon and it is now ready to be put in the Electric kiln and fired.  This vase stands approximately 7 inches tall.  This will not be fired for about two weeks, but I will put more images on line after it has been fired.  Hopefully this piece will come out of the kiln looking like I have planned on it coming out. On occasion things do not always look as I have envisioned them when they have been fired. Please note that these colors as they appear on this vase are not the actual colors of the final ceramic work. The colors are just dye that approximate the color in most cases and will change dramatically in some cases once fired . The dye is added just as a guide for the person that is doing the painting.  The dye is a rather modern development. The over glaze that goes over these colors is now dyed green.  Just a few years back the over glaze was not dyed, it was just plain white.  The addition of the green glaze really makes it a lot easier to see while applying. With any luck this piece will showcase the extreme amount of detailed work that I have put into this project.
