Persnickety Exibition of Michael W. Moses Ceramic Art Pottery in Madison, MS Concluded

It has been about a year now since I did my last post.  I am a little surprised that it has been so long.  I,  just this weekend finished a year long exhibit at  Persnickety,  in Madison, MS. I would like to thank Ben Rogers and all of his staff at Persnickety for displaying my work and allowing the people of Madison the opportunity to view and purchase my ceramic art pottery.

SOLD! Michael W. Moses' First Three Pieces of Ceramic Art Pottery at "Persnickety" of Madison, MS

Well, just to update a bit. If you were interested in the following three pieces of my ceramic art pottery you are to late.  All three pieces have already been sold at "Persnickety" of Madison, MS! All three works sold on the same day that we did the initial installation. New Dragon Pod Vase by Michael W. Moses and New Ceramic Art work by Tyler Gibson

My last post featured a freshly painted Dragon Pod Vase and here it is out of the kiln and ready for viewing at South Coast Antiques & Gallery. I am really pleased with the outcome of this vase. The Yellow is very intense and the red is just a gleaming candy apple red! The inside is Kermit the frog green with blue dots. This vase is loosely based on the Pitaya fruit, also known as the Dragon fruit.

Now here we have a new piece by Tyler Gibson. This ceramic art pottery work is done in Earthen tones and was specifically painted to give it a bottom of the sea feel and look. The white swirl seems to give this piece a real sense of movement.  In my opinion movement is a real plus for a piece of pottery.

What I did today. I spent the day at the shop. Not a whole lot of people came in today. I spent most of the day working on a new vase. I took a few minutes to cut a small branch of flowering plume and place it in one of my vases that I call "Passion Red Fruit Vase". I specifically designed this intensely red vase with a small hole in the side where a single stem could be inserted leaving the large main opening of the vase free of flowers. I then took a few digital images. here is one that I processed this evening using Photoshop. I added an appropriate haiku by Chiyo-jo and this is the finished image. Signed prints available.

 

To the person breaking off the branch,
giving its fragrance,
the plum blossom.
